SAP Training and Event Management (TEM) Features

SAP Training and Event Management is an important component of SAP which provides a number of functions to allow the organization to plan and manage many different types of business events efficiently without much effort. Training and Event management or SAP TEM is a part of SAP HR module and it has interface to connect to all the relevant SAP applications and components which makes it suitable for extend and even update employee skills and information. SAP TEM can be integrated to developmental programs which allows the software to provide proposals for training or other educational programs to meet the needs of qualification deficit of the employees.

Some of the features of SAP Training and Event Management are

Business event date planning - It provides help for business event preparation which includes planning the creation of master data and setting up the hierarchy structured business event catalog. Planning helps to, automatically, create a function depending on the demand.

Determine demand - To plan and schedule business events on the basis of demand one can use the decision support tool. The demand determination function is integrated to training and event management, and from the existing data one can determine the demand for business event. One can even change the method for demand determination.

While determining the demand, you take the bookings of last year and also check the pre-booking for events. A date proposal is created automatically where you determine the business events, location, language, calendar dates which includes the days offs, resources to specify the planning operation and then define the cover resource requirements.

Planning is used to define a chart where you can move or copy or delete dates, and also display the resource list.

Plan activities - It can be used to plan booking activities such as plan book, prioritize booking, pre-book activities, replace booking and cancel attendance. Some of its features are

1. It enables to prioritize bookings that include book individual or group attendees.
2. Check attendees for time conflicts or attendance prerequisites.
3. The output can be delivered manually or automatically.
4. One can use mail merge or standard letter to deliver day-to-day activities.
5. Multiple correspondence templates can be used.

Business event catalog - Business event catalogue helps to plan event dates depending on demand. It is used to calculate business event costs, budget, and price and also the functions to cancel events.

Locking business events - Business events can be locked if the attendee list is closed. One can lock the list internally or externally in planned or booked status. To modify the status one will have to unlock it.

Recurring activities - It helps in generating attendance lists, getting the output confirmation of attendance, appraisals of attendees, appraisals of business events and follow ups.
Billing and activity allocation - It helps to perform actual cost transfer and internal activity allocation.

Reporting - It provides request reports for the attendance data, business events and resources.

Interoperability - The functions can be used to connect directly to Microsoft word or other applications and the menu can be designed as per the business hierarchy.
