Before open source, many corporations are hesitant to implement this type of software in their company in the fear that they can't get their results. But, those worries through away by the open source globally. The services providers are providing the professional service or support that they are providing on with proprietary software.

Phased Implementation. It is important to plan out the installation process of the software and training to the end-users once the functional procedures and systems are defined, then it is better to install the soft phase by phase.

Data Management: Data Management is an important task of an effective ERP implementation. Master data is to be migrated to the new system and methods and companies need to manage the data globally for going forward with the new practices by using the software.

Language and Currency: ERP software provides one of the vital benefits to its users of global organizations is been able to regulate the business process and provide global visibility in the business operations. Local firm also getting benefit from this software is that allows the organizations to have flexibility in the data management and transactions in their local languages and local currencies.

Support Structure: In the total ERP process, implementation part is the toughest and biggest step. It is important to decide from where ERP software is to be maintained and managed? It is to be managing in centralized manner or decentralized manner? Many globalised companies are preferred to centralize their support system of the application software, and provide.

Support to the end users from the central support system. So that, there is no need to manage the data by the end users in their regional branches. While some of the firms with of their operations are limit to some regions, prefer to decentralize the support system, which the data management base on the end-users.

These are some of the points to be considered before implementing ERP. Before out sourcing ERP, companies need to evaluate the objectives and requirements of the organization, and must review the IT resources in the organization like Computers, Drivers etc. and also need to assess for the qualified IT staff. Organizations must need to assess the total project cost apart from the fees of service providers, need to include the hardware materials which are to be purchase and also the training cost that would be made to train the staff make them ready for the new applications and processes.
